There are several new programs in the Lotusphere schedule for 2010, including the Admin Boot Camp:
What: The new Admin Boot Camp debuts at Lotusphere 2010! We're providing a total-immersion full day of admin-oriented Jumpstarts geared specifically for those who need either an in-depth refresher or for those admin "black belts" looking for an concentrated overview on major Lotus administration techniques, tips, inner-workings and best practices.This is a great idea to bring both newcomers and old-skoolers up to speed with the admin aspects of the latest versions of the products. Another Lotusphere innovation which is sure to hit the mark!
Admin Boot Camp kicks off with 8 hours of Jumpstart sessions (4 sessions of 2 hours each) on the first day of Lotusphere, Topics covered in the 4 sessions will include the top requests from our admin community: security, installation and upgrades, IBM Lotus Sametime, IBM Lotus Domino, IBM Lotus Traveler, and more.
Who: Whether you're new to Lotusphere or a seasoned veteran, if you're a system administrator or a data center manager, or an admin practitioner, you are sure to find something to "pump up" your skills and knowledge!
When: Sessions will be concentrated on Sunday, January 21st, 2010. Additional sessions will follow throughout the week.
Where: Walt Disney Swan & Dolphin Resorts
Why attend: Admin Boot Camp is not limited to just the one day. We've selected lots of other sessions during the whole week of Lotusphere to bear the Admin Boot Camp label. Of course, you're free to attend any session, but the sessions designated as belonging to Admin Boot Camp will be particularly useful to admins who may be new to the job or who need a solid, in-depth update. Even if you can't catch all the Boot Camp sessions you want on Jumpstart Sunday, you will find plenty of other sessions from the Show n' Tell, Best Practices and other tracks during the entire week of Lotusphere.
Note: There's no extra charge for Boot Camp sessions, all registered Lotusphere attendees are welcome to attend any session. Spend all of Sunday in admin land, or catch the 1 or 2 Boot Camp Jumpstarts of most interest to you.

I can't tell you how happy I am to see this. I know I'm not alone in this, but being one half of a two person IT staff, it is tough for me to get away for training, with all the other work we have to do day in and day out. I've been wanting to get to an Admin Boot Camp, prior to, and after upgrading out Domino server from 7.0.3 to 8.5.1, but haven't been able to do so.
I guess I would fall in the category of "admin practitioner", as I know enough to be dangerous, but not enough as I should, so this announcement comes at the best time.
I can't wait for Lotusphere!
